Students who want to get a head start on their high school courses this summer, earn credits, improve their grades or even earn co-op credits can begin registering for courses now.
Registration for our very popular Summer School and Reach Ahead courses is open.
“A lot of students see these courses as a great opportunity to get ahead or just improve their overall average,” said WECDSB Summer School Principal Ryan Coristine. “And students do very well in these courses. In fact, 98 percent of them were successful in 2020.”
High school students in summer school can register for a variety of full credit courses, improve their marks in credit recovery courses or even earn co-op credits through virtual or in-person work placements.
Grade 8 students also have the opportunity to get a head start on their high school diploma by taking any number of Grade 9 courses being offered virtually this summer in the Reach Ahead program.
All Reach Ahead and Summer School courses are being offered virtually, but they will include a mix of synchronous online learning and independent study.
Depending on which program students are in, summer school generally runs from July 2 to July 30, however there are some flexible options.
