COVID benefit graphicThe Ontario government is increasing financial support for parents of students by doubling the next round of payments through the Ontario COVID-19 Child Benefit.

"COVID-19 has impacted every aspect of our society, but we recognize that the pandemic has been particularly challenging for parents with school-age children," Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce writes in his April 25 letter to parents.

Under this new round of funding, parents will receive $400 for each child aged 0 to Grade 12 and $500 for children and youth 21 years old or younger with special needs. This doubles the payments in the last round under the previous Support for Learners program.
