Employees and friends of the WECDSB will be teeing it up for a great cause when the board hosts its third annual charity golf tournament on June 5.

“After having to cancel last year's tournament due to the pandemic we’re excited to get back out on to the course,” said Director of Education Terry Lyons. “Besides having a lot of fun, this will be a great way for people to support the students of our board.”

This year’s tournament will be held at Rochester Place Golf Club and funds will be directed towards the Charities of WECDSB, which helps students participate in a variety of programs including the Muskoka Woods Experience, our sports, construction and STEM academies, as well as providing essential supports that help our students achieve academically.

The format for this year’s tournament will be a best-ball scramble. Rather than our traditional shotgun start, foursomes will be assigned tee times staggered in nine-minute intervals in order to encourage physical distancing and limit people from congregating prior to teeing off.

Tournament fees will include donation, food and drink at the turn, as well as a plated meal when golfers finish their round, with an option for grab n’ go.
