Online resource helps prepare students

Transition Series

With the vast majority of WECDSB students coming back to in-person learning when school starts up again on Sept. 6, a team of educators has prepared a great new resource to help them have a successful return.

“Our Transition Back to School Series is a wonderful online resource that has a wealth of fun and informative resources that will help both parents and their children have a smooth return to the classroom,” said Superintendent Kelly Bull. “Our team has been developing this throughout the summer, and they have compiled a wide variety of resources that we’re certain will help students as they transition back into routine.”

The series is divided up into age-appropriate categories for both students and caregivers and includes information on mindfulness, planning and establishing routines, where to find support, fun activities, parenting resources, and more.

“We understand that coming back to school might be an anxious time for some students and parents, so we wanted to make sure that we provided resources that would help ease those concerns in an easy to navigate and fun to use kind of format,” said Diane Tope-Ryan, a Senior Program Specialist who helped develop the resource.
