Why consider the Soccer Academy?

Open to students in Grades 7-12, the Soccer Academy will help student athletes learn and improve on advanced individual skills and tactics, while developing a lifestyle on and off the pitch that emphasizes building character through achieving both athletic and scholastic success. Purposeful practices led by highly trained staff, strength and conditioning designed to maximize physical attributes, and a focus on leadership will all position the student athlete to achieve their individual goals.

Technical development focuses on establishing composure, confidence and creativity on and off the ball. The following themes are targeted in personal and competitive settings:

  • Ball Mastery
  • Passing & Receiving
  • Finishing
  • One-on-One Attacking & Defending Principles
  • Turning, Cuts, Fakes, Feints
  • Aerial play
  • Shooting & Heading

Tactical themes are established to increase an athlete's understanding and passion for the game, translating to a more effective and imaginative presence on the pitch:

  • Small Group Attacking & Defending
  • 'Macro' Tactical Analysis
  • Tactical Assessments of Professional Play
  • Combination Play
  • Systems of Play

Sport training sessions are innovative and focus on individual needs. Athletes are challenged in a positive and competitive environment.

Strength & Conditioning Training: In-season and off-season training plans are designed for today's serious soccer athletes and compliment the Sport specific training. The goal is to maximize the effectiveness of all soccer specific energy systems focusing on strength, power, agility and cardiovascular training.
