English as a Second Language

Welcoming newcomers and providing a supportive learning environment that honours their diverse identities and experiences is part of our commitment to know every learner.

Whether you're an adult, high school student or an elementary student, we can assess your current language proficiency and place you in a program that responds to your unique needs.

The WECDSB is committed to providing innovative and culturally relevant programming so they may see themselves in their learning environment and feel that their language and culture are valued. Through our innovative programming, we strive to improve the confidence and proficiency of multilingual learners so they can meet their goals and have
an opportunity to choose pathways that honour their strengths and interests. We work collaboratively with community partners to develop programs and services that promote student achievement and well-being.
