School / Student Support

Client support from start to finish - from the point of registration to the first day of school, each student is treated as an individual. Our job is to fully support the agent, parent and student during their time with WECDSB.

Free language assessment - all long term students are asked to complete an online assessment prior to their arrival in Canada. This free 30-minute online test is sent directly to all new students. The assessment score is sent back directly to the WECDSB International Student Coordinator, who reviews the results and determines the best school placement for the student.

In-school Student Guidance - all long term international students will have 1-point of contact at their school who they will meet with regularly to support them with class schedules, tests, school environment and any concerns or questions they have along the way.

Alumni and their Journey

We are proud to say our international student graduation rate is 97% annually with program acceptance to a wide-range of Ontario post-secondary institutions.  These include University of Windsor, University of Toronto, Western University, St. Clair College, Conestoga College, Queens University and the University of Waterloo.

Annual Student Scholarships Awards

The International Education Student Scholarship Award recognizes up to 10 extraordinary students whose actions and experiences studying at WECDSB have exemplified excellence in either academics or personal growth.

The winners will receive up to $1,000 Canadian dollars for their next academic journey in post-secondary school.  This scholarship awarded each June is for graduates from WECDSB.
