Catholic Education Week begins on May 1 and it's a wonderful time to reflect upon how grateful we are for publicly funded Catholic education in Ontario.
“It’s something that we have to make sure that we don’t take for granted,” says Fulvio Valentinis, Chair of the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board. “It’s something that’s very valuable to many members of our community.”
This year’s theme is Rebuild, Renew and Restore Together, and throughout the week, students and staff at Catholic schools throughout Windsor-Essex will be taking part in activities intended to remind them about the faith that both united and defines them.
“We need to celebrate Catholic Education every week,” says Emelda Byrne, the WECDSB’s Director of Education. “We do that by practicing our faith, listening to the lessons of Jesus, as well as looking at our Journey to Holiness.”
