(Windsor, Ontario, Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018) – Girls in Catholic high schools throughout Windsor-Essex are being encouraged to take advantage of a great opportunity to learn more about making career choices.

The annual Build A Dream event is intended to encourage girls to think about careers in non-traditional sectors, according to Dan Fister, Executive Superintendent of Innovation and Experiential Learning.

"There's a whole world of opportunity for girls in skilled trades and other careers that have been typically dominated by men," he said. "This event will give girls in our high schools the chance to see themselves in some of those roles, which can often be very lucrative."

Sherry Holmes, the daughter of well-known TV contractor Mike Holmes, will be the keynote speaker at this year's event, which takes place on Nov. 8 from  4-8 p.m. at the Ciociaro Club in Windsor.

Dinner will be provided, however there is a limit to three people per household.
