(Windsor, Ontario, Friday Sept. 11, 2020) - Almost 4,000 elementary students will begin learning from home on Sept. 14.
“We’re very excited to get started,” said Sonia Dauncey, Principal of the WECDSB’s brand new Elementary Virtual School (EVS). “Over the last few weeks we have been extremely busy assigning all of these students and teachers to their virtual classrooms, and we have accomplished a great deal as a team. Now we’re ready to get back to the business of learning.”
Dauncey said now that they have their assignments, almost 200 virtual teachers will be contacting their students on Monday morning.
“Teachers will be contacting students and their parents via their tools2go email accounts, but may use other means if they aren’t able to reach them that way,” she said. “Some of that communication may arrive throughout the weekend, so parents and students should stay tuned.”
Dauncey also asked for parents and students to remain patient.
“We’re all on this new journey together and we want our students and their families to know that we are here to support them every step of the way.”
Dauncey said that if students haven’t heard anything by Monday afternoon, or if they are having any difficulty logging into their virtual classroom, they can call 519-946-0816 ext 1514 or send an email to her or one of the Vice-Principals. Their email addresses can be found on the EVS website.
For technical support, including resetting your tools2go password, students and their families can contact the I.T. Service Desk at (519) 946-0812 or via email at [email protected].
