Chances are you know someone who has gone the extra mile to support some of our students or to help out a colleague. Now you can see to it that they’re recognized for their efforts.
"Every day right across our entire school board, people are going out of their way, doing those little additional things to assist each other and to benefit our students,” said Human Resources Superintendent Colleen Norris. “They don’t do them because they’re looking for praise, but we still want to make sure that we acknowledge their spirit, kindness and generosity, because they inspire all of us to be better.”
The Kudos! program is a new peer-to-peer recognition initiative to acknowledge the amazing work of our staff in enhancing the student experience and promoting their intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and physical well-being. Staff members are being encouraged to nominate one another when they spot someone going out of their way or doing something creative and innovative that demonstrates leadership and a commitment to Catholic values.
Nominating someone is easy. If you want to recognize a colleague for doing something commendable, just fill out an electronic Kudos! form, which can be found in the staff portal of the board’s website. The manager or principal of the person you nominated will present them with a Kudos! certificate and their name will be entered into a draw.
Human resources will draw winners from the list of nominations. Those people will receive a gift card, and their photo may be published in the WECDSB Google+ community. The deadline for the first round of nominations is June 21.
“I expect that we’ll see a fair number of nominations, just because there are so many people doing so many exemplary things,” Norris said. “We’re really looking forward to being able to acknowledge those people.”
