Bullying

Creating school communities that are free from bullying is one of our main objectives. Whether it's aggressive and intimidating behaviour in person or via cyber-space, bullying can have serious impacts on a student's ability to learn, as well as long-term negative consequences for their emotional, psychological, and spiritual growth. There is, however, some persistent confusion about what types of behaviour constitute bullying. On this page you'll find a wealth of resources, including definitions of bullying, our board's policies regarding bullying, and useful information on what we can all do to stop it.

Bullying Prevention & Intervention Model

WECDSB's Bullying Intervention and Prevention Plan is designed to provide guidance to school communities to be well positioned to respond to all forms of bullying, educate students on bullying prevention, promote healthy relationships, notice troubling changes in behaviour, address instances of bullying, and connect with students.

Bullying Incident Reporting Form

Although we always encourage students to talk to an adult that they trust, this anonymous reporting form is another way to make schools even safer, fairer and more caring learning environments for everyone. Speaking to the school about incidents of bullying is always encouraged. This form is intended for non-emergencies. Students requiring immediate help or support should speak with a parent or an adult they trust or call 911.
