Elementary students in Catholic schools across Windsor-Essex will learn about the importance of planting seeds of love, kindness, patience, joy, and faith thanks to the introduction of two new books authored by a WECDSB alumnus.
A Garden of Love and A Heartfelt Journey with Jesus were both recently authored and published by Sacred Heart and St. Thomas of Villanova graduate Tzophia DeSantis, and copies were delivered earlier this week to all of the WECDSB’s elementary schools.
On Friday, DeSantis made a visit to St. Gabriel Catholic Elementary School in South Windsor to read the books to two Grade 3 classes.
Each book focuses on the main character Sophia, with the common theme being the relationship she shares with her grandparents, and the spiritual guidance and wisdom she receives from both.
DeSantis says her writing is inspired by a seed planted in her own heart by God for children, and she hopes that these seeds will multiply and grow, bringing goodness into this world.
“It’s really all about planting good seeds in children’s hearts, bringing them back to what matters most, a relationship with Jesus” she said.
In addition to praying with the children, DeSantis led the students in a seed planting activity.
“It was such a beautiful day for all of us,” she said.
