A Grade 6 student at St. Angela Catholic Elementary School has been named as CBC Windsor Morning’s official “young solar system enthusiast.”
Ashton Mantha appeared on the local radio show hosted by Amy Dodge on April 4 to talk about his excitement for the upcoming solar eclipse on Monday, April 8.
“I have my eclipse glasses and I’m ready to go,” said the 11-year-old boy. “I’m most looking forward to the totality, when it’s just completely black. It’s like completely night time, no moon, or sun.”
Students in Windsor-Essex were being dismissed at 1 p.m. on April 8, and Ashton will be heading out to Leamington to view the celestial phenomenon with his family.
He was back on the show on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:40 a.m. to talk about his viewing experience.
