Open House Registration takes place at all Catholic schools

Wednesday February 24th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm

As a Catholic school community we are commited to integrating the teachings of Jesus Christ into all aspects of school life. For students attending our Catholic schools, the school community serves as a support and foundation for understanding our faith tradition. The family and the parish community play an integral role in partnering with schools to support the faith development of students.

Our Catholic schools nurture the development of the whole person - mind, body and spirit. Young people are taught that each person is special because they reflect in their person the image and mystery of God, who is at the heart of every person and the world we inhabit.

** FULL-DAY ALTERNATE DAY AND FULL-DAY EVERY DAY KINDERGARTEN PROGRAMS
Beginning in September 2010, half day, every day kindergarten programs will no longer be offered in our Catholic schools. Most schools will be offering kindergarten programs in a full-day alternate day schedule, with full-day every day being offered in eight locations.

Full-Day Every Day: For families who are interested in the French Immersion program, the Board offers early French Immersion programs full-day every day in Junior and Senior Kindergarten at: St. Mary Catholic School (Maidstone.) In addition, the Ministry of Education recently announced that an Early Learning Program (ELP) will be implemented over the next five years, with 15% of Junior and Senior Kindergarten students participating in a full-day every day program in the first year.

Accordingly, the Windsor-Essex Catholic District School Board has received approval to launch the new Early Learning Program in 14 classrooms at 7 elementary schools across the district. Schools that will host full-day Early Learning Programs are:

  • H.J. Lassaline Catholic Elementary School
  • Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Elementary School
  • Our Lady of the Annunciation Catholic Elementary School
